Parent Opt-Out Checklist

As districts prepare to decide whether to administer the traditional MCAS or newly developed PARCC assessments this coming spring, many parents are considering the prospect of “opting out” of the test for their children. To assist school leaders in making their decision and presenting parents with their options, MASC has prepared the following advisory on the PARCC/MCAS debate and an “opt-out” checklist of issues that parents and districts might consider.
